Simon P. Boyd

Mr. Boyd served as a director on the Board of what is now The Soldiers Fund for 2 years and was appointed Chairman on December 1st 2015. Simon is a graduate of Royal Air Force (RAF) College Cranwell, following which he was commissioned as a Weapons Systems Officer. He underwent flying training and was posted to XV Squadron, the Operational Conversion Unit for the Tornado GR4 aircraft. During his 5-year career in the RAF Simon also worked at the British Air Warfare Center.

Simon is from Lincolnshire, but now resides in Boston, Massachusetts with his American wife Ingrid and their young daughter. He is a Director at The Winhall Companies, a privately owned commercial real estate development and investment company. Simon has studied business and management at the University of London and holds an undergraduate degree from The Harvard University Extension School, where he majored in Economics.

Simon enjoys travelling, spending time with his family and participating in all sports, particularly rugby and skiing. Prior to joining the RAF he volunteered in Fiji surveying the coral reefs for a period of 4 months.
